There is no doubt that a Damascus knife blade is both striking and eye-catching, but it is unusual to find one on a knife that is as well priced as the one on test.
Blade, Construction, and Sheath
The Elk Ridge Clipped Damascus Knife comes with a plain brown leather sheath with a press-stud fastener and a belt loop, and features a good-looking 3.7” Damascus steel blade with a strong full-tang construction. Its fine edge delivers clean cuts across a range of materials and holds its sharpness well. The drop-point design ensures a sharp tip, making it well suited to detailed work and piercing tougher surfaces.

Handle Design and Ergonomics
In contrast to the fancy Damascus finish on the blade, the handle is very plain. It is made from dark wood and features two brass pins that secure the scales, and there is a lanyard hole at the rear. It has a slight curve and a nicely shaped belly just behind the middle, which sits well in your hand for a comfortable grip. Overall, it works really well with the blade and makes for a nice-looking knife.

Is This a Usable Damascus Knife?
At just 8” long overall, this is a nice, small knife. While Damascus blades are often much more expensive and therefore less likely to see heavy use, this one serves well as a general-purpose tool that you can use without worrying about the cost. It looks good, works well, and is great value for money.
