RWS Superdome Pellets – AMMO TEST

RWS is a top-level German ammunition manufacturer, and its Superdome pellet has been a mainstay in its Field Line range for many years. The Superdome was once the Field Target pellet, going back a while, yet it still remains an easy choice for a medium-weight pellet, when quality and performance are required.

A traditional dome-headed design (hence the name), and the waisted shuttlecock diabolo configuration, mean this pellet isn’t exactly ground-breaking. However, since dome heads still rule the roost in top-level sub 12 ft/lbs outdoor competitions, this style of pellet unsurprisingly remains super-popular. Pellets from the RWS brand often appear quite shiny, and this suggests a fractionally higher antimony content in the mix, with a more robust, slightly harder pellet, and less deformation in the tin in transit, the result.

At 8.3-grains in .177, the Superdome is very much a medium-weight option, and with those distinctive ribs in the hollow skirt, and impressively consistent weight, the Superdome should still be on anyone’s shortlist for down-range accuracy and serious shooting across the board.

GMK now distributes the full RWS ammo range, so these high-grade lead pellets will be available via the far-reaching GMK dealer network. Definitely one to look out for.
